The US are increasing
the tools of adaptation to global warming effects. As The
New York Times brings [National Briefing | West,
California: NASA Aids Drought War, Feb 25, 2014],
NASA
scientists have begun deploying satellites and technology based on
information they capture to help California water officials assess
the state’s 2013-14 record drought and better manage it, by giving
them information about the snowpack and groundwater levels and by
predicting storms. They are also embarking on projects that use
satellite images to help measure the number of fields farmers have
chosen not to plant and where, as a many times almost not noticeable effect,
land is sinking because of excessive groundwater pumping.
