The US are increasing the tools of adaptation to global warming effects. As The New York Times brings [National Briefing | West, California: NASA Aids Drought War, Feb 25, 2014],
NASA scientists have begun deploying satellites and technology based on information they capture to help California water officials assess the state’s 2013-14 record drought and better manage it, by giving them information about the snowpack and groundwater levels and by predicting storms. They are also embarking on projects that use satellite images to help measure the number of fields farmers have chosen not to plant and where, as a many times almost not noticeable effect, land is sinking because of excessive groundwater pumping.
